Non-Life Insurance Companies
- AIG General Insurance Company, Ltd.
- Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.
- Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.
- Chubb General Insurance Co., Ltd.
Life Insurance Company
- Daido Life Insurance Company
2. Authority of Our Insurance Agents
Non-Life Insurance
Our licensed non-life insurance agents are authorized by the insurance companies we represent to:
- Solicit and conclude insurance contracts on behalf of the insurance company;
- Receive declarations and other required information from customers in connection with insurance applications.
Please note that the information provided in your insurance application and declaration forms must be complete and accurate.
If any declaration is found to be false, inaccurate, or incomplete, the insurance company may rescind or void the insurance contract, and insurance benefits or claims may be denied in accordance with the terms and conditions of the policy.
3. Use of Personal Information
We respect your privacy and handle your personal information with due care.
Your personal information will be collected and used only with your consent and only to the extent necessary for the following purposes:
- Arranging and administering life insurance and non-life insurance policies;
- Providing insurance-related services;
- Performing other operations directly related or incidental to insurance services.
Your personal information will not be used for any purpose other than those stated above unless otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
For further information regarding the collection, use, storage, and protection of your personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy, which is available at our office.
4. Insurance Solicitation Policy
In accordance with the Act on Sales, etc. of Financial Instruments and other applicable laws and regulations, our agency has established an Insurance Solicitation Policy to ensure fair, appropriate, and customer-focused insurance solicitation.
When recommending insurance products, we are committed to:
- Understanding each customer’s insurance needs, objectives, and financial circumstances;
- Providing appropriate information to enable customers to make informed decisions;
- Recommending insurance products fairly and responsibly;
- Conducting insurance solicitation in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
For further details, please refer to our Insurance Solicitation Policy, which is available at our office.
5. Policy on Product Comparison and Recommendation
Our agency is an independent insurance agency representing multiple insurance companies.
When recommending insurance products, we first confirm each customer’s insurance needs, objectives, and preferences. We then compare the products offered by the insurance companies we represent and recommend those that are most appropriate for the customer’s individual circumstances.
Our agency adopts a pre-selected recommended product group approach for comparative recommendations. Under this approach, recommendations are made from a group of insurance products that has been selected in advance in accordance with our internal product selection standards.
The recommended product group is established after a comprehensive evaluation of various objective factors, including:
- Product features and benefits;
- Scope of insurance coverage;
- Premium levels;
- Claims handling and customer service capabilities;
- Our experience in handling the products and other relevant business considerations.
Since our agency currently represents only one life insurance company, all life insurance products are recommended from that company.
If a customer specifically requests a particular insurance company or insurance product, we will respect the customer’s preference and provide information regarding the requested product whenever possible.
We are committed to providing clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand explanations of our recommended products and the reasons for our recommendations so that each customer can make an informed insurance decision.
6. Exceptions to the Product Comparison and Recommendation Policy
The Product Comparison and Recommendation Policy described above is intended primarily for customers purchasing insurance products available in the general Japanese insurance market.
However, different procedures apply to insurance products designed for members of the United States Armed Forces stationed in Japan, civilian component personnel, eligible family members, and other individuals covered under the U.S.–Japan Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).
Because only a limited number of insurance companies currently offer insurance products specifically designed for this market in Japan, our agency currently represents the following insurers for Military Business insurance:
- AIG General Insurance Company, Ltd.
- Chubb General Insurance Company, Ltd.
Accordingly, when providing insurance solicitation for Military Business customers, we will follow the procedures outlined in our separate solicitation flowchart. After confirming your insurance needs, objectives, and eligibility, we will explain the coverage, policy provisions, premiums, and other relevant features of the available products offered by both insurers. The final selection of the insurance product will always be made by the customer.
For customers who are unable to communicate sufficiently in Japanese, we currently introduce AIG General Insurance Company, Ltd., as it is, at present, the only insurer among those we represent that can provide insurance solicitation, policy application and administration services, policy-related assistance, claims reporting, claims settlement procedures, and other accident-related support services in English.
Our recommendations are based solely on objective business considerations, including product availability, underwriting capability, administrative support, and language services available during the solicitation and policy administration process. They are not intended to indicate that one insurance company is superior to another.
7. Basic Policy Regarding Organized Crime Groups and Other Anti-Social Elements
Our agency is committed to maintaining a sound and trustworthy business environment by refusing all relationships with organized crime groups and other anti-social elements.
To ensure appropriate business operations, we adhere to the following principles:
- No Relationship
We will refuse all relationships and transactions with organized crime groups and other anti-social elements. - Organizational Response
Any matter involving anti-social elements will be handled by the organization as a whole rather than by individual employees. - No Improper Benefits or Financial Support
We will not engage in any improper dealings, provide financial benefits, or otherwise support anti-social elements. - Cooperation with Relevant Authorities
We will cooperate closely with law enforcement authorities, legal counsel, industry associations, and other appropriate external organizations. - Legal Action
When necessary, we will take appropriate civil and criminal legal action to protect our customers, employees, and business.
